Medford Man Accused of Destroying a Side-View Mirror in Somerville

A Medford resident has been accused of smashing a side-view mirror of a Somerville man’s car on Sunday, and has been consequently arrested for malicious destruction.

Police say the incident took place at 8:31 p.m. at 191 College Ave., Somerville, where the victim heard a noise that probably sounded quite a bit like his side-view mirror getting kicked off his car. A neighbor who witnessed the incident told him that was exactly what he heard. The alleged motor vehicle vandal fled towards Medford, according to police.

The witness was able to provide police with a description, and Medford Police quickly nabbed the suspect, Peter McIlroy Jr., 36, of Medford, nearby Nick’s House of Pizza on 372 Boston Ave.
