Medford Man Busted For Selling Steroids and HGH

Off duty Somerville officer spotted suspicious activity.

MEDFORD, MA - An alert off-duty officer helped bust two men this week for allegedly selling human growth hormone in Somerville. A Medford man was charged in the bust.

An off duty police sergeant witnessed two men meet for a short meaningless ride in the Walgreen’s parking lot at 337 Broadway July 3 and alerted an officer, police said.

When police approached the men – later identified as Scott McAlarney, of 80 Bow St., Medford, and Samuel Conlon, of 3 Auburn Rd., New Fairfield, Connecticut – McAlarney became extremely nervous, police said. During a search, officers found steroids and human growth hormone, police said.

McAlarney was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a class E drug.
Conlon was arrested and charged with possession of a class E drug and conspiracy to violate a drug law.
