Medford Man Charged With OUI In Somerville
A Somerville police officer found Robert LeBlanc, 53, asleep at the wheel at a stop light, police said.
SOMERVILLE, MA — A Medford man was charged with drunken driving after he was found asleep at the wheel at a stop light in Somerville, police said.
A police officer found 53-year-old Robert LeBlanc in his vehicle, which was stopped at the intersection of Elm and Mossland Streets around 1:20 a.m. on Feb. 7, police said. The officer honked his horn, which resulted in no response, and then went over to the driver's side window, where he saw LeBlanc hunched over his wheel, according to the police report.
LeBlanc smelled of alcohol and had glassy eyes and slurred speech, police said. When he was asked to get out of the car, he was unsteady on his feet and gave the officers different stories about where he had been, according to the police report.

LeBlanc did not pass sobriety tests given at the scene and was taken into custody, police said. He was given a breathalyzer test at the police station, which returned a blood alcohol content of 0.21 percent, according to the police report.
LeBlanc was charged with operating under the influence of liquor.
