Arrest Made In Medford Serial Tire Theft Case

The person is believed to be responsible for similar instances in other communities as well.

MEDFORD, MA — The police department announced Tuesday that it has made an arrest in two motor vehicle vandalism and theft incidents that occurred in the fall.

Joseph Munoz, 34, was arraigned in Somerville District Court on the charges of Taking and Stealing Parts from a Motor Vehicle and Attempt to Commit a Crime after the Methuen resident was arrested in Haverhill.

All four tires of a vehicle parked on Main Street were stolen in the early morning of Oct. 29. On Nov. 2, the same thing happened to another car parked on the corner of Frederick Avenue and College Avenue. According to Medford police, similar incidents were also ongoing in other nearby communities and Munoz is believed to be responsible.

The department gave credit to the Haverhill, Salem, Methuen, Boston, and State Police for their contributions in making the arrest.
