Medford Police Officer Receives Promotion

MEDFORD, MA — The police department formally promoted one of its officers this week.

Jordan Cannava was sworn in Friday morning as the department’s newest lieutenant. Cannava earned this promotion after 11 years of service in the Medford PD. Throughout his tenure, he worked up the ranks first as a patrol officer, then crash reconstructionist, and most recently a traffic sergeant. According to the department, Cannava has been an active traffic safety advocate through his attendance at Traffic Commission meetings, authoring traffic safety grants, and recruiting officers to his department.

“We are confident that Lt. Cannava will continue to excel and lead with dedication in his new role as patrol lieutenant,” the department said in a statement.
