Medford Police Warn Against Imposter Phone Scam
Scammers are allegedly calling community members under the guise of being Medford police.
MEDFORD, MA—The police department revealed Wednesday that it has received numerous reports from residents about phone calls in which people pose as the department and ask for monetary donations.
According to the department, unsolicited phone calls are being made to community members that appear as though they are coming from the department’s non-emergency phone number of 781-395-1212.
The department insists that the calls are not coming from them and instructs residents to immediately hang up if they answer the phone.
