Medford Pond Closed Due To Dangerous E-coli Levels
Wright's Pond is used often during the summer.
MEDFORD, MA — The city’s Board of Health announced Thursday that Wright’s Pond has been closed due to elevated e-coli readings from test results.
The Board notified the Recreation Department that the pond will have to temporarily shut down, as the body of water on Elm Street is often used for swimming and small boating activities. The pond opened for the summer season on Monday, June 16 for Medford residents exclusively.
According to the city, the pond will have to remain closed until two consecutive water samples are collected and are below a certain level.
