MEDFORD, MA — Unofficial results are in for the city's Preliminary Election, and the crowded pool of city council candidates just got a little smaller.

The purpose of the preliminary election is to narrow the 17 candidates running for city council this year to 14 prior to the city-wide election in November. All seven seats are up for reelection this year, with six out of seven incumbents seeking reelection.

According to the results, candidates Milva McDonald, Trish Schiapelli, and Page Buldini will not be advancing to the November ballot, as the newcomers received the three least number of votes at 1,507, 2,013, and 2,108 respectively.
