Medford Recognized For Its Affordable Housing Efforts
The city was one of several municipalities do be given a specific designation for its emphasis on housing.

MEDFORD, MA — Governor Maura Healey and her administration recognized the city with a 2025 Housing Choice Community Designation.
The initiative recognizes municipalities that state leadership believes are adopting policies that support increased housing production and lower costs. To qualify for the Housing Choice designation, communities must meet certain benchmarks for housing production over the past five years and demonstrate progress in implementing local policies and best practices.
This designation will allow Medford more state funding opportunities and technical assistance for project planning and growth that it had not previously had.
