Medford Voke Hires New Media Tech Teacher

Medford Vocational School has hired a teacher for its new media technology program.

MEDFORD, MA - Medford Vocational School has hired a teacher for its new media technology program.

Superintendent Roy Belson announced the appointment of Kristina Fraser to the position of Media Technology Teacher for the new shop program of Media Technology at Medford Vocational Technical High School (MVTHS).

Fraser has a B.A. in Communications and Journalism from Suffolk University, a M.A. in Visual and Media Arts from Emerson College, and is currently completing her M.Ed. in Community Arts from Lesley University, a release said.

She is certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Preliminary Vocational Technical Teacher License in Radio and Television Broadcasting, and in Visual Art, a release said.

She comes to MVTHS from Brookline High School, where she taught documentary film making, TV production and digital video, a release said. In addition, she serves as the Education Manager for the Brookline Interactive Group (formerly Brookline Access TV), where she acts as a liaison between the community media center and Brookline Public Schools, a release said.

Fraser has an extensive and varied background working with video field production and advanced video production, a release said. In the past, she has worked for Live Nation New England as a booking assistant, Clear Channel Entertainment, Instant Live as a sales manager, WZLX FM as a production/promotions assistant and NESN, the New England Sports Network, as a production assistant, a release said

"Medford Technical High School is excited to have Krissie on board to start the media technology program. She has the instructional experience and the technical knowledge we need. The vocational students will be renovating space to accommodate the program while the studio is being constructed. Once the studio is complete, this will become additional lab space," said Dr. Heidi Riccio, principal of the vocational school.
