New Egyptian Restaurant Opens In Medford

MEDFORD, MA — A new restaurant focusing on Egyptian fare opened near Tufts University in Medford this week.

Kushari and Grill sprang out of the Mr. Kushari food truck, which operated from March 2020 to March 2021 in Boston's Fenway area, Eater reported.

Owned by Egyptian native Mohamed Hassanein and his wife Irina, the restaurant specializes in koshari, a street food staple in Egypt, and hawawshi, which is "similar to a calzone" and stuffed with ground beef, onions, bell peppers, and parsley, according to the post.

Kushari and Grill is located at 321 Boston Avenue.
