Crash with Boston Globe Delivery Truck and Car Sends Two to Hospital in Medford

One person was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries, according to state police.

Two people were taken to the hospital early Saturday morning after a car collided with a newspaper delivery truck in Wellington Circle.

About 3:55 a.m. Saturday, a 2003 Toyota Matrix collided with the side of a 2007 Freightliner delivery truck bearing a Boston Globe logo, State Police Trooper Reid Bagley said Saturday morning.

The driver of Matrix, a 24-year-old man from Mattapan, was extricated from his car and rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital, Bagley said. The driver of the delivery truck, a 51-year-old man from Franklin, was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
