Roslindale Man Arrested After Drug Bust in Medford
Police seized heroin, cocaine and an illegal firearm from the trunk of a Roslindale man's car Tuesday night.

A Roslindale man was arrested in Medford Tuesday night after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of heroin, cocaine and an illegal firearm.
Wendell Calvin Cole, 32, now faces several charges, including possession of drugs, illegal distribution of drugs, and the unlawful possession of a firearm.
Cole was initially stopped after a Medford police officer observed him operating in an erratic fashion on Salem Street. The officer then observed Cole throw trash out of his car’s window. He was later pulled over at the intersection of Main and South Streets, InsideMedford reports.

The officer issued Cole a verbal warning and sent him on his way. A short-while later, police learned Cole may have been in town to conduct a drug transaction.
Officers observed Cole allegedly take part in a drug deal at Brooks Park and Main Street. They immediately searched Cole’s car after witnessing the transaction.

With the assistance of a drug-sniffing dog, police uncovered 22 grams of crack cocaine and 13 grams of heroin stashed in a cooler in Cole’s trunk. A .45 caliber handgun was also seized from the car.
Cole was arrested at the scene and charged.
