Sen. Ed Markey Endorses Mayor Lungo-Koehn For Re-Election

MEDFORD, MA — U.S. Sen. Ed Markey has endorsed Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn for re-election, her campaign announced Monday.

"For two decades as a city councilor and as mayor, Breanna Lungo-Koehn has shown leadership, vision, and an unwavering commitment to the people of Medford," Markey said. "There is no substitute for the experience she has demonstrated, especially during these challenging months during COVID. I look forward to better days ahead for Medford with Breanna at the helm."

Lungo-Koehn is seeking her second term as mayor of Medford. She was elected in 2019 after serving 18 years on the city council.

Prior to his election to the Senate in 2013, Markey represented Medford in the U.S. House of Representatives for nearly 40 years.

"I thank Senator Markey for his endorsement, and for his leadership for Medford and for Massachusetts in the United States Senate," Lungo-Koehn said. "Medford knows Senator Markey well from his time in the House, and we know that he will have our back, just like he always has. I'm grateful for his support and look forward to continuing to work with him to keep moving Medford forward."
