5 Things You Need To Know Today—Friday, Feb. 11
A Valentine's Day sampler, daily specials, and some chocolate tour of Melrose.

Today is Friday (I'm in love), Feb. 11 and here are today's five fast facts:
I'm melting! Melting! Oh what a world! Not quite yet, but it's coming. I'm of course talking about The Big Melt (not to be confused with the Bacon Hamburger Fatty Melt ... it's bacon!). The historically abnormal chilly temps of the past few days— exacerbated by the wind chill—will continue today, with a high of 28 and wind chill values as low as -1. Come Saturday, however, high temperatures should bounce back up above freezing, leading to a gradual melting of snow and ice much week. We stress the lexical choice of "gradual."
Adult Swim: Start your Friday night off right. Join the folks at Beacon Hill Wine and Gourmet for ——where they'll pouring Jacob's Creek Moscato; Banyuls dessert wine; Robert Mondavi Cabernet; and a brand new Pinot Noir from Francis Ford Coppola, who not only makes wine, but films with soundtracks that pair oddly well with wine glasses. (I've tried to play wine glasses as well, but it made a sound like an animal that we rolled over—and it was dead.)

Chocolate rain: Yeah, that particular holiday is coming up on Monday. (**I move away from the mic to breathe in) If you're still without a gift for your S.O., Melrose Patch has you covered. Today we'll give you a round-up of 10 places in Melrose with more than 14 different types of chocolate gifts—including chocolate-scented creams, shower washes and body spray (zero calories!). Stay tuned.
I'm going hungry ... Thinking about what to do for lunch or dinner? Here are daily specials around Melrose:

Natta toki ni katta—Kiiroi Rolls Royce: If it looks like a rap video outside Corinthian Hall on Saturday night—or a meeting of people who dress up like the Monopoly Guy (hey, thanks for the free parking)—that's because the multi-state Yankee Region of the Rolls Royce Owners Club are converging on Melrose, complete with their Rolls and in black tie, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the "Spirit of Ecstasy." You may want to stroll or drive by that night, if only to see some phat whips parked out front (see picture).
As always, check our calendar for the full slate of events (and add your own).
