When I dip you dip we dip: Well that was fun while it lasted. After high temperatures in the 50s yesterday, today temperatures dip down to the low 20s, with wind chill values as low as -3. will continue throughout the day and night, but at least it'll be sunny.

"Every evening I shall sit down to dine with you. Not with my body, which is of no importance, but with my soul:" Nothing like a good dinner to bring people together. The returns again tonight—as it does every Tuesday—to the Milano Senior Center. The free dinner is open to all; tonight's dinner will be hosted by Incarnation Parish, which hosts the dinner on the third Tuesday of each month. The dinner can always use volunteers, too. (I can't recommend enough the movie from which the above quote is taken.)
I represent the Rent Is Too Damn High Party: No Jimmy McMillan's last night at the aldermen's Appropriations Committee meeting, when eight of the nine candidates who have stepped forward seeking Rep. Paul Brodeur's now vacant Alderman at-Large seat introduced themselves to the board. (One candidate had a previous obligation and will be at next Monday's full board meeting.) Last night, it was announced that the election to fill the seat—previously scheduled for next Monday—will be postponed until March 7, when all current board members will be available to attend. Stay tuned to Melrose Patch today for a recap of last night's meeting.
