High School Football: Melrose Crushes Wilmington

The Red Raiders improved to 5-0 on the season with an impressive shutout win over Wilmington Friday night.

The Melrose High School football team entered Friday night’s game against Wilmington ranked No. 18 in the state of Massachusetts. They showcased their dominance yet again, earning a 41-0 win.

In victory, the Red Raiders improved to 5-0 on the season. Jay Tyler scored two rushing touchdowns for Melrose in the ballgame. Quarterback Julian Nyland added a passing touchdown. They scored five touchdowns and two field goals in total.

Melrose’s defense has allowed just one touchdown in the last eight quarters of play.

The Red Raiders will next be in action on Friday, Oct. 16, against Stoneham.
