Melrose 10th-Graders Score Well on MCAS

The 2015 MCAS scores are out. Melrose High School students placed among the top half of schools in Massachusetts. The city ranks 120th among 291 school districts with 88% of 10th-grade students scoring proficient of advanced on the annual standardized test.
Melrose ranked 84th in the state for the English Language Arts portion of the test. 97% of students earned either proficient or advanced.
The city ranked 120th in the state for the Math portion of the test. 86% of students earned either proficient or advanced.

And finally, Melrose ranked 131st in the state for the Science portion of the test. 81% of students earned either proficient or advanced.
Between the three sections, 27% of students earned a needs improvement grade. 8% scored within the warning/failing area.
