The 2015 MCAS scores are out. Melrose High School students placed among the top half of schools in Massachusetts. The city ranks 120th among 291 school districts with 88% of 10th-grade students scoring proficient of advanced on the annual standardized test.Melrose ranked 84th in the state for the English Language Arts portion of the test. 97% of students earned either proficient or advanced.The city ranked 120th in the state for the Math portion of the test. 86% of students earned either proficient or advanced.And finally, Melrose ranked 131st in the state for the Science portion of the test. 81% of students earned either proficient or advanced.Between the three sections, 27% of students earned a needs improvement grade. 8% scored within the warning/failing area.
