MELROSE, MA — The city is offering a free “heat pump coaching” service to residents with the goal of helping them properly transition to more energy efficient heating and cooling systems for their homes.

Raj Das, Joe Ben-David, and Susan Murphy are the three professionals community members can reach out to for a complementary consultation. According to the city, investing in an air source heat pump is beneficial for homeowners because it can save on energy costs, lowers the amount of greenhouse gas emissions compared to regular oil-based heating systems, and is more efficient as it offers both heating and cooling in one system.

“This service is part of our ongoing commitment to a greener and more sustainable Melrose,” Mayor Jen Grigoraitis said in a statement.
