Busy Pride Month Planned For Melrose
The Melrose Creative Alliance has sponsored more than a dozen events in June.
MELROSE, MA — The city has an event-filled pride month scheduled with numerous events throughout June.
The festivities will kick off with the annual Flag Raising Ceremony on Thursday, June 5 at 5:30 p.m. outside Melrose City Hall. The events will resume on Sunday, June 8 with a half-marathon walk that begins from the Lincoln School at 10 a.m. in support of The Trevor Project. Afterwards, participants and other community members can unwind at the Melrose Annual Pride Event at the Beebe Estate from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. which features a beer garden, arts and crafts, and a pop-up LGBTQ+ art show.
LGBTQ+ author Edward Underhill will be hosting a virtual forum at the Melrose Public Library on Monday, June 9.

The Unitarian Universalist Church on West Emerson Street will host a discussion on transgender challenges and issues and how the community can better support people on Thursday, June 12 at 7 p.m.
On Monday, June 16, The Salon owners David and Steven Jolan invite adults to a Broadway show tune concert that benefits Melrose Drama at 6:30 p.m.

The next prominent event will take place on Tuesday, June 24 at the Temple Beth Shalom on East Foster Street where guest speaker Eli Lurie Sobel will give their presentation titled “Blurring the Binary: A Jewish Perspective on Living In Between."
One of the final festivities will be a farmer's market at Bowden Park. Crafts and music will also be present for residents to enjoy.
