MELROSE, MA — The School Committee and Melrose Educators Union announced Thursday that the two sides have reached an agreement on a one-year contract extension for the district’s teachers and paraprofessionals.

The extension will add to the current three-year collective bargaining agreement, and will cover the time period of fiscal year 2026 beginning on July 1 and ending on June 30, 2026.

“In the face of substantial fiscal constraints for Melrose Public Schools and the city as a whole, we believe that this one-year agreement will benefit Melrose teachers and paraprofessionals while ensuring stability for our students and their families in the coming year,” The MEU and School Committee said in a joint statement.
