Molly's Bookstore in Melrose To Host NH-Based Author Michael Wejchert

Wejchert is a writer and climber and has written for Alpinist, Ascent, Rock & Ice, Appalachia, and the New York Times.

MELROSE, MA — On Thursday, August 10 at 7 p.m., Molly’s Bookstore in Melrose will welcome New Hampshire-based author Michael Wejchert for a discussion and book signing of his 2023 book "Hidden Mountains."

Wejchert is a writer and climber and has written for Alpinist, Ascent, Rock & Ice, Appalachia, and the New York Times. He is also the president of the New Hampshire Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) in the White Mountains. Wejchert was interviewed in the recent July/August issue of Yankee Magazine in the article “in Trouble. Can’t Move. Could Die.” by Ian Aldrich.

"Hidden Mountains" details the 2018 climbing adventure of two couples in Alaska’s remote Hidden Mountains. The peaks were unexplored and untouched, but the trip was a culmination of years of climbing and planning. When a rockfall unexpectedly falls on one of the climbers, a heart-stopping rescue by Alaska’s elite rescue force keeps the pages of the book turning with rapid fire.
