The temperature has finally dropped below 95 and it is a pleasant way to start this month. of August.
Our meeting on the 4th. was full of suggestions for things to do now that it is cooler.
August 10th....We headed for the Regal Players in Waltham...We like to arrive early to get a parking space close to the entrance. Well there were many parking spaces to our surprise. We sat and waited in an empty parking lot for a while and then headed for the door.

The sign said " sorry the performance has been cancelled" etc. If an e-mail was sent out I perhaps never got it or in my usual manners I just deleted it. But not was lost; yet.
The sign also suggested we go to the Brelundi restaurant in Waltham for a free appetizer , on the theater..

We did just that and the appetizer was delicious, as was the entire meal we purchased

It is a lovely restaurant, great service but a bit pricey for an every day meal.
It was still a good Red Hat Day....and ice cream at SOCS on the way home.
Pretty sure a refund will be coming soon.
On August 25th. it was off to Raymond NH. for our 2 for 1 lobster rolls at Tuckaway Tavern.
Our wait today was 1 hour and 27 minutes but worth the wait.
The service is excellent and the fact that you can get one lobster roll and a side; then get another lobster roll with yet another side free is always a treat.

One of our members celebrated her birthday this month( therefore the purple hat). Tuckaway staff
gave her the happy birthday wishes and a cake big enough so that all of us could have a piece.

It is a ride of about one hour but a fun place to enjoy the meal at the restaurant, and then with take out at home later.
So ends the month of August for us this year.
We are now thinking of Fall, cooler weather, changing colors of the trees, new places to go and old places to visit.
Stay with us...
