Teen Accused of Assault, Witness Intimidation in Melrose

At 6:27 p.m. Jan. 17, Melrose Police responded to Hawes Avenue to investigate abandoned 911 calls. Police arrested a 15-year-old and charged them with three counts of witness intimidation during 911 calls, two counts of assault and battery on a family or household member and a single count of assault with a dangerous weapon, a shoe. 

Jan. 17

6:56 a.m.: Walgreens on Main Street, caller reported a shoplifter. The shoplifter fled the scene before officers arrived.

2:12 p.m.: Grove Street at Myrtle Street, report of a large pothole. DPW notified.

7:29 p.m.: West Wyoming Avenue at Hurd Street, report of an erratic driver, described as an elderly woman that was driving "all over the road."

10:13 p.m.: Franklin Street, caller reported her parked vehicle was struck by another vehicle that left the scene.

11:03 p.m.: Water Street, caller requested an ambulance. A 16-year-old was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery.

Jan. 16

10:39 a.m.: A person visited the police station to report a larceny on Frances Street.

12:34 p.m.: Lebanon Street at Park Street, caller reported branches in the roadway. DPW notified.

1:40 p.m.: A person visited the police station to report threats made on Brazil Street.
