Milford went for Stephen Lynch, although the state voters as a whole chose Edward Markey in the primary.

1. Election results for the special state primary show that Democrats in Milford chose over U.S. Rep. Edward Markey (D-Malden). and so advances to the special election for U.S. Senate. In Milford, 1038 voters selected Lynch, 53 percent of the votes cast. Markey collected 914 votes in Milford.
2. Just 11 percent of registered voters in Milford cast ballots for the Democratic primary ballot. Another 5 percent of registered voters in town cast ballots in the Republican primary.

3. On the Republican ballot, Milford voters chose Gabriel Gomez in larger numbers over any other candidate. He collected 421 votes, 52 percent of the votes cast in that thee-way race. Gomez will go on to challenge U.S. Rep. Edward Markey for the U.S. Senate seat.
4. A write-in candidate, Mark Tosti, was among five Milford residents elected Tuesday as constable. The others: Joseph Arcudi, Barbara Clement, Raymond Pagucci Jr. and Mark Calzolaio.
