Barbara Auger Re-elected as Treasurer, Light Turnout in Town Election
In one of the only contested races, town Treasurer Barbara Auger easily held on to her seat Tuesday, capturing 78 percent of the votes cast.

Milford Town Treasurer capturing three of every four votes cast in the race, one of two contested races on the town ballot.
Auger collected 2013 votes to 560 cast for who was conducting his first campaign for office in Milford. Soares, 26, was elected Tuesday as a Town Meeting member for Precinct 6.

In the contested race for Board of Library Trustees, incumbent John Byrnes was re-elected, and was elected to a second open seat. It was Auger's first campaign for public office.
The town election drew a small number of voters this year, based on preliminary results released Tuesday night by the Milford Town Clerk, Amy Hennessy Neves.

Just 2,741 ballots were cast, about 16 percent of the registered voters.
The election this year featured only two contested races. No one challenged the incumbents for Board of Selectmen or Milford School Committee this year.
