The Personnel Board said that Milford pays about 10 percent less than some surrounding communities.

MILFORD, MA—The Personnel Board in Milford has recommended an increase in wages and salary for town employees.

The board issued its recommendation at the April 11 meeting of the Finance Committee, arguing that Milford is about 10 percent lower than the 13 surveyed surrounding communities. The Finance Committee requested the data collected by the Personnel Board. Town Accountant Zach Taylor said that the increase would be 2 percent for hourly wages and two and a half percent on salaries.

The approximate value would be $2 million for 80 employees. Two members recommended that the issue go to town meeting. One voted in opposition to the wage increase recommendation, and 10 voted in favor.
