MILFORD, MA — Milford postponed its July 4 fireworks show due to whether — and is being rewarded for it.

The town's Independence Day fireworks will set off at 10 p.m. over Plains Park, 90 Cedar St., on Wednesday. The fireworks were initially supposed to happen on Sunday evening, but were washed out by thunderstorms.

The weather for Wednesday night is almost the complete opposite: spectators will have clear skies with no sign of thunderstorms anywhere near Milford. Temperatures will be in the low 70s around showtime.

Many cities and towns in Massachusetts postponed fireworks over the last few days due to rainy weather. Boston's main fireworks event went on as planned after storms cleared Tuesday evening — but the fireworks were shrouded in clouds and fog.
