Pittsfield Armed Robber Arrested In Milford, Police Say

Milford and Pittsfield police and the FBI arrested the man in Milford early Wednesday morning.

MILFORD, MA — Milford police, the FBI and police from Pittsfield arrested a local man early Wednesday morning in connection to an armed robbery in the Berkshire County city.

Law enforcement went to a home near Rosenfield Park along Cedar Street in Milford near 5:30 a.m. Wednesday and arrested Christopher Oliveri, 51, on charges including armed bank robbery, armed kidnapping and several weapons charges.

Oliveri is the main suspect in the robbery of the Merrill Road NBT Bank branch in Pittsfield in November. During the robbery, Oliveri restrained several bank employees with zip-ties, according to police. About $143,000 was stolen in the robbery, and over $100,000 was reportedly found in his Milford home, according to iBerkshires.

Oliveri will be returned to the Pittsfield area to face the bank robbery charges. Milford police sought to charge Oliveri with the gun charges.
