Milford Police: Large Number of Hypodermic Needles Found Near Louisa Lake

Friday, Oct. 10

At 5:40 a.m., a caller reported to Milford Police that he hit a dog with his vehicle in the area of Medway Road and Naples Court. The vehicle was reportedly damaged, but the dog survived the accident and ran from the scene.

At 9:37 a.m., a caller reported that he had been referred to the Milford Police Department by the Milford Board of Health to check on trash barrels on the sidewalk on Purchase Street. Officers confirmed a large amount of trash in front of the caller’s property.

At 1:49 p.m., a caller reported a “smoldering fire” near two large trees on Purchase Street.

At 1:57 p.m., police received a report of a silver Honda driving erratically in the area of Medway Road and East Main Street, with the driver possibly having fallen asleep at the wheel.

At 5:13 p.m., a caller reported finding a large number of hypodermic needles in the brook by Louisa Lake on Dilla Street. Officers located the needles and investigated any reports suspicious activity in the area.

At 6:50 p.mm., police responded to a report of an accident near Papa Gino’s on Medway Road involving a black Chevrolet and a grey Honda SUV.

At 8:08 p.m., police received a report of a two-car accident near Milford Hospital, with no personal injury reported.

At 8:25 p.m., a caller reported that a German Shepherd dog has been in the parking lot of the Bank of America on Medway Road and the animal appeared to have been hit. Animal Control was notified and responded to the scene.
