Milford Police: Water Pipe Vandalized at Purchase Street Cemetery

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Tuesday, Oct. 7

At 8:56 a.m., Milford police received a report from a woman who said she discovered an undisclosed amount of money had been missing.

At 9:05 a.m., a woman reported harassing phone calls and mail she had been receiving from an unknown male.

At 9:42 a.m., police responded to a report of an accident in the median of Rte. I-495 southbound between Rte. 109 and Rte. 126. No injuries were reported, though one individual was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

At 10:09 a.m., police responded to a report of a multi-car accident in the area of Main and Prospect streets. One vehicle reportedly drove into a pole and the intersection had been partially blocked. Four cars were involved.

At 12:06 p.m., police received a report that the Rockland Trust building had been damaged by a truck.

At 1:26 p.m., a caller reported that water had been moving from a hose into the Purchase Street Cemetery. Officers investigated and determined that a water pipe that comes out of the ground had been vandalized and they were unable to turn it off. The Milford Water Company was notified and sent someone to investigate.

At 3:06 p.m., Loss Prevention at Kohl’s on Medway Road reported that they stopped a man and a woman for shoplifting.

At 4:42 p.m., a caller reported that a dog attacked another dog and the owner while they were out walking in the area of Jionzo and Ryan roads. Milford Animal Control was notified; no injuries were reported.

At 10:20 p.m., a caller issued a noise complaint for loud music on Court Square. The parties involved were spoken to and were quiet upon arrival.
