All of the people involved are friends, said O'Loughlin. The dispute began several weeks ago, when the victim borrowed one of his friend's headphones, and when he returned them, one of the suspects believed they were damaged and demanded $40.
The two suspects went to the victim's home on Lincoln Street about 10:22 p.m. Wednesday, and pushed the teen's mother aside when she opened the door, O'Loughlin said. They also broke a glass window in entering the house.
The 19-year-old suspect punched the victim, O'Loughlin said, and the 17-year-old suspect then put him in a headlock, then stabbed the victim in the back. The two teens also threatened the victim's mother when she tried to call police, O'Loughlin said.
After the assault, the assailants fled.
Once arrested, the police chief said, the two suspects will be charged with home invasion, assault and battery, destruction of property, assault with intent to murder and intimidation of a witness.
