Milford Woman Raises Alzheimer’s Awareness

Gabrielle Pearl of Milford will participate in the Neponset Valley Walk to End Alzheimer's.

MILFORD, MA ­– Gabrielle Pearl of Milford will participate in the Alzheimer’s Association Neponset Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Sunday, September 25 at Patriot Place in Foxborough.

This is the first time Pearl will join the Walk to End Alzheimer's. This past April, she lost her grandfather to the disease.

“Everything that he did he poured his entire heart into,” said Pearl. “My aunt was his caretaker and made sure he got the best care there was.”

To date, Pearl has raised over $500 for the event.

"I am honored to be a part of something so special," said Pearl who looks forward to joining the 1600 others who will participate in the event. "Because every step will make a difference."

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

“We are grateful to each person who makes a commitment to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s by participating, volunteering or making a donation,” said Jim Wessler, president/CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. “The funds raised will provide support to people impacted by Alzheimer’s, while also contributing to the research that is critical to putting an end to this disease.”
