Police Log: Parents Being Rough with Child, Man Disturbing Customers

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, April 17

3:47 p.m.: A Honda Fit struck a bicyclist on East Main at Hamilton streets. No one was injured.

3:56 p.m.: A nurse at Milford Regional Medical Center asked to speak to police because the state Department of Children and Families had told staff it wanted to take custody of a child visiting a patient. The mother was trying to leave with the child at that time. Security was attempting to stop her from leaving. Police responded.

5:12 p.m.: An employee at Hannaford Supermarket contacted police because a woman had taken two cosmetic items, but was caught by the employee. They asked for police help so they could identify her for a "no trespass" order. Police are seeking a summons to charge Elena Yung, 28, of 21 Dutcher St., Hopedale, with shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

5:17 p.m.: A woman reported another neighbor was operating an ATV in wetlands in her back yard on Mill Pond Circle.

5:19 p.m.: A caller reported an odor of gas inside an apartment on Greenleaf Terrace. No smoke or fire was visible. Firefighters were investigating. NStar was contacted.

6:41 p.m.: A caller reported a customer at Honey Dew Donuts on Prospect Street was harassing other customers who was told to leave. He had long grey hair and was wearing khakis. 

7:19 p.m.: A caller reported a man was outside the liquor store near causing a disturbance. He was an older man wearing khaki pants. Police responded and restored peace.

7:43 p.m.: A disturbance was reported on Grove Street. A loud party was reported.

8:33 p.m.: A caller reported a heated argument between two women on Pleasant Street. The women were arguing outside a car.

8:37 p.m.: A caller reported a large number of people are being loud on Winter Street. Police spoke to the people involved.

9:17 p.m.: A hit-and-run was reported on West Street, near the Dairy Queen. No one was injured.

10:39 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Forest Street, police arrested Adam J. Glasier, 28, of 20 Forest St., Milford, on three warrants.

Thursday, April 18

8:21 a.m.: A caller reported hearing a loud bang against his house the previous night, around midnight. He checked the exterior this morning and noticed no damage.

10:41 a.m.: A man reported paper balloons were going up in the air at Congress and Fayette streets, using flame. He was concerned this was a fire hazard.

10:42 a.m.: A homeowner on Ravenna Street said his house and car were egged for the second time in a month.

2:32 p.m.: An officer responded to Gibbon Avenue, for a report of an egging of a property.

3:17 p.m.: A woman told police an older man went through her trash on Vincenzo Road, and obtained the address to her parents' house. And he later showed up there.

4:18 p.m.: A caller told police a car had backed into a house on Court Square and then left. Medway Police stopped the car in their town, and reported finding rear end damage to the vehicle.

4:37 p.m.: Police responded to Reade Street for a report of a domestic. Police arrested Wilfried Braunack, 55, of 13 Reade St., Apt. 2, Milford, on two counts of domestic assault and battery.

4:55 p.m.: A woman told police that while she was shopping in ALDI Food Market, she observed a man and woman treating their 7-year-old daughter very roughly. They left in a vehicle. She asked police to check on the well-being of the child. Police checked and the child was OK.
