Police Log: Porch on Fire, Neighbor Complaints, Ex-Wife Yelling Insults

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, April 14

4:40 p.m.: A caller reported a loss of power on Congress Street, with a wire hanging 4 feet off the sidewalk in the area. National Grid was notified.

7:18 p.m.: A caller on Pheasant Circle reported a man was yelling and threatening her 13-year-old son. The man threatened to assault him.

8:55 p.m.: A caller said his ex wife was harassing him. She just pulled into his neighbor's yard, in his sister's SUV, and was yelling insults at him, he reported. Police spoke to the people involved.

10:46 p.m.: A 50-year-old man was reported to be bleeding from the mouth at Holiday Inn Express. He had been in a fight with another man, who had then left. Police reported the man who was injured was being "completely uncooperative" and wouldn't give them any information. He then went into his room and refused medical treatment.

Monday, April 15

1:31 a.m.: A caller told police someone had hit a pole on Fiske Mill Road. The pole was hanging into the road. Debris was in the road, but no car in sight. Police contacted National Grid and told them the road would be closed, as a result. Police issued a BOLO for the vehicle that fled.

11:49 a.m.: A caller told police he wanted to speak to an officer about an issue with his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend. He said he had made threats over the phone.

12:53 p.m.: A woman walked into the police station to report she had found the contents of someone's wallet in her yard on Spring Street. The owner of the items was contacted. Her wallet had been stolen on April 11.

3:41 p.m.: A caller asked to speak to an officer about a possible fraudulent phone call placed to her house.

4:07 p.m.: Employees at Shaw's called police to report a man had shoplifted from the store, then left in a Chevrolet Impala. Police are seeking a summons to charge Nicholas Trotta, 44, of 10 Main St., Mendon, with shoplifting by asportation.

4:44 p.m.: A woman reported a young boy was riding a bike on Dilla Street, and thought he might get hit by a car. Police could not locate him.

5:40 p.m.: A caller told police a 15-year-old was riding a min-bike in the West Street-Maria Circle area, with a young child on the front. Neither had a helmet.

6:04 p.m.: A caller reported three kids were playing baseball in the street in front of a building on Colonial Road. The caller was concerned and thought this was unsafe. Police found the children were on the grass and using a Wiffleball.

6:19 p.m.: A caller said someone was cutting trees in her yard on Fruit Street.

6:50 p.m.: A crash was reported on West at Asylum streets. A motorcylist went off the road, and the driver flipped over his handle bars. The motorcyclist was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

8:12 p.m.: A man on West Street said his upstairs neighbor was banging on the floor and causing a disturbance.

8:34 p.m.: A caller reported a porch was on fire at a house on Purchase Street. When firefighters arrived, nothing was showing.

11:41 p.m.: A caller said kids were throwing fireworks around McDonald's on South Main Street. Police arrived but could not find the kids.
