Police Log: Speeders on Cedar and Sumner Streets, Clocked at 55 MPH

Tuesday, Sept. 17

5:14 p.m.: A caller told police he thought his ex was under the influence and she has custody of their two small children. Police checked and the mother and children were fine.

5:50 p.m.: Police received several calls about two solicitors outside Target. They were removed.

6:00 p.m.: An officer on Cedar Street ticketed two cars. The high speed clocked was 55 mph.

6:05 p.m.: A manager reported a disturbance at Burger King. He said he was having an altercation with an employee. Police responded and found that it was an argument over Burger King policies.

6:35 p.m.: An officer on Sumner Street ticketed two cars. The high speed clocked was 55 mph.

7:27 p.m.: A resident of West Street requested a police log entry to document that her parents are having an ongoing issue with a neighbor who is harassing her parents and agitating their dog.

7:29 p.m.: A caller told police that people are removing things from the apartment next to theirs. And the owners have moved out.

8:09 p.m.: A caller reported a piece of machinery on West Spruce Street might be a hazard. Police checked and found it was coned off and off to one side.

8:43 p.m.: A woman asked police to respond to her home, where her son had locked himself in his room and was blasting music. An officer found this was a misunderstanding and the issue had been resolved.

9:40 p.m.: A caller told police a man was suspicious on Whitney Street. He was walking back and forth and wearing a grey hoodie. Police responded but he was gone.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

12:19 a.m.: A vehicle was repossessed on Dell Ann Circle.

6:46 a.m.: An officer at the new three-way stop on Whitewood Road and Reservoir Road issued four citations.

11:53 a.m.: A theft was reported at Milford High School.

1:42 p.m.: A ma reported vandalism to his vehicle, on Hemlock Lane.

1:42 p.m.: A caller reported illegal dumping on Wildwood Drive.

3:40 p.m.: A caller reported his kids were fighting. Police arrested Joshua M. Charro, 18, of 2 Pheasant Cir., Apt. 7, Milford, on a charge of disturbing the peace.

6:41 p.m.: A caller at Kohl's reported a man in custody for shoplifting a $25 pair of earrings.

11:16 p.m.: A road plate had shifted on Dilla at Cedar streets. Police checked and found it was OK.

11:39 p.m.: A caller reported a woman had been threatened by a family member with a bat. Police arrested Sean P. Hammond, 47, of 39 Cedarview Cir., Milford, on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and intimidating a witness.

Thursday, Sept. 19

1:18 a.m.: A vehicle was repossessed on Dell Ann Circle.

10:12 a.m.: Several callers reported a woman in her 40s was sitting on a bench near Gene's Variety wearing no pants. Police responded and found she was intoxicated. She was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.

11:24 a.m.: A woman eating cereal in a house on Congress Terrace reported finding a strong pill in it, possibly a narcotic.

11:28 a.m.: A police officer was stopped by a motorist who reported three suspicious men checking out a house on West Street. The men worked for a tree service and were looking at a tree.

12:09 p.m.: A caller at Applebee's reported a man had yelled at a woman and then threw her into a car. They left in a Toyota Camry or a newer model Lexus. Police responded and checked surrounding areas but could not locate the vehicle.

12:54 p.m.: A caller reported a vehicle that was suspicious in the West Street Liquors lot, with three men inside. Police found they were construction workers on a lunch break.
