Police Log: Vehicles Entered on Court, Pine Streets

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Sunday, Oct. 5

At 4:09 a.m., a male party reported to Milford police that a traffic barrel and other objects were in the middle of the road of Rte. 16 near Isabel’s Coffee Shop & Market. Officers responded and removed the barrel from the road.

At 9:58 a.m., a caller reported that dogs were in a vehicle with the windows up near the Purchase Street Market.

At 12:16 p.m., a caller reported that a man was burning something in his driveway in the area of Congress Street and Nancy Road. The Milford Fire Department responded and determined it to be a cooking fire and cleared the scene.

At 2:47 p.m., police received a report of a resident burning what were believed to be leaves near his garage in the area of Whitney and Grove streets.

At 2:49 p.m., a manager at Big Lots on South Main Street reported that two individuals refused to leave the store.

At 3:37 p.m., a female reported that her mother’s neighbor had been blowing leaves and trash into the roadway of Hemlock Lane. Officers responded and after finding no leaf-blowing taking place determined that the leaves and trash had already been in the roadway.

At 6:09 p.m., a caller reported a group of skateboarders in the Fine Field Pool.

At 10:17 p.m., police received multiple reports of loud noises in the area of Mill Pond Circle, with additional calls reporting gunshots in the area. Officers responded to investigate.

Saturday, Oct. 4

At 1:48 a.m., police received a report that while inside Scioli’s Pizza Bar on South Main Street, another female pulled her hair and started a fight with her.

At 10:11 a.m., a caller reported that their vehicle had been broken into in the Court Street area, from which several pairs of sunglasses had been taken.

At 10:28 a.m., a caller reported her car was broken into overnight in the area of Pine Street and that a pocket book was taken from within.

At 11:34 a.m., a caller reported that someone had taken two car seats from her driveway on Parkhurst Street.

At 3:27 p.m., officers responded to a report of an erratic driver operating a blue Honda Odyssey on Pine Street. The driver reportedly struck a parked vehicle before officers pulled him over, according to reports.

At 7:42 p.m., a caller reported that a vehicle had cut him off near Imperial Municipal Partners on East Main Street. The vehicle reportedly hit a curb and flattened two of its tires. The driver checked out okay, according to police records, and the vehicle sustained minor damage, and was towed for an expired registration.

At 9:47 p.m., a caller reported hearing five or six gunshots in the area of Ramble Road and Whitier Drive.
