MILFORD, MA — A Hopedale business owner will head to the Milford Zoning Board of Appeals soon to request permission to open a construction equipment dealership along East Main Street.

According to the board, Estavao Costa would turn the property at 170 East Main St. — near the intersection of Routes 16 and 109 — into a "construction equipment, sales, rental and service" business.

The nearly 39,000 square-foot parcel contains a brick building that was home to an automotive garage and the business Way Out Welding. The owner of the welding business, Rudolph Porotti, also owns the property, according to the ZBA.

If approved, the construction dealership would be positioned between two other dealerships: Imperial Hyundai near Hamilton Street, and an Enterprise car rental business near Prairie Street.

The Milford ZBA will meet July 13 to hold a public hearing on the proposal.
