Serious E-Bike Crash In Milford Prompts Police Warning To Parents

MILFORD, MA — Milford police are addressing the rising dangers of electric bicycles.
An accident involving a car and an e-bike on Monday left a teenage male with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. His head struck the vehicle's windshield.

This comes as the Milford Police Department said it has experienced a "troubling surge in unsafe and illegal e-bike operation" in 2025.

Now, they are urging parents to protect their children by restricting the use of e-bikes.
“In my thirty years as a paramedic, I have never seen such a rise in brain injuries as we are witnessing since the advent of E-Bikes in our community,” said Police Chief Robert Tusino. “We are asking parents to take an active role by limiting their children’s use of e-bikes and educating them on the very real dangers of operating these vehicles."
