Traffic Detour on Birch Street
Construction of a sewer line is requiring a detour on Birch Street, starting Wednesday.

A detour on Birch Street in Milford will be in place from 7 a.m. to at least 3 p.m. daily, beginning Wednesday.
The detour is to allow road crews to install water and sewer lines for the new Cornerstone assisted living center under construction.
According to Milford Police, motorists will only be allowed to travel down Birch Street from Medway Road one way each day and others traveling from Maple and Beaver Streets will not be allowed down Birch Street. Those cars will be detoured down Beaver Street to Medway Road (RT 109).Â

Motorists will be allowed onto Birch Street from Beaver Street only if they are working, doing business or living on Waterfall Lane and Stallbrook Road. No one will be allowed past Stallbrook Road on Birch Street if they are travelling to Medway Road.
The construction is expected to continue for one week and will affect traffic on weekdays. Motorists should seek alternative routes and may encounter delays.
