$5,000 Theft, Downed Wires, And More: Needham Police Log

September 3
11:10 a.m. - A New Jersey resident reported that her wallet was stolen from Panera Bread. The matter is being investigated

10:30 a.m. - Officers responded to Needham High School for a report of vandalism to a vehicle. A student returned to her vehicle to find a handful of scratch marks on her hood. There are no witnesses.
A Whittier Road resident reported that someone hit his car while it was parked in the lot behind the Needham Center CVS. There was minor damage to the left front quarter panel. This occurred on Aug. 21 about 5:30 p.m. There were no witnesses.

A Central Avenue resident reported that he was involved in an accident on 1st Avenue near Highland Avenue. He was given a crash report to fill out and advised to contact his insurance company.
September 5
1:00 p.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Webster and Holland streets for speeding. As a result of the stop, a 38-year-old woman was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding.
September 6
10:25 a.m. - An officer responded with other units and Needham Fire to Central Avenue for a report of a tractor trailer that had taken down electrical wires. The road was shut down while awaiting Eversource to respond. Eversource responded and removed the wires.
A Wayne Road resident reported that someone was able to steal his identity and take $5,000 out of his bank account. Bank of America is investigating.
A Manning Street resident reported that she was approached by a man who asked her if she wanted a ride. She said no and he drove off. The Needham Police Department is investigating.
