Aly Raisman Continues "Dancing With The Stars" Next Week

After last night's solid performance on "Dancing With the Stars," Needham native Aly Raisman and partner Mark Ballas are continuing their run into next week. 

The three judges last night rated Raisman and Ballas' quickstep dance 8 out of 10, giving the Olympic gold medalist 24 total points. Combined with last week's score, she has 45 out of a possible 60 points.

The teams two teams ahead of her are Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy with 50 total points, and Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough with 47 points between both weeks. Both teams scored 26 points in last night's competition.

Aly was declared safe about 15 minutes into the episode, and was not eliminated this week.

She told host Tom Bergeron that one of her challenges is counting the beats in the music. He countered that another was losing her partner backstage before the dance, although they reconnected in time to go out and dance. 

The judges rate and rank each couples' performance during the program, and viewers can vote for their favorite duos. Phone and text voting close 60 minutes after the show, and online voting at both ABC's website and the DWTS Facebook page remain open until 11 a.m. the following Tuesday.

No dancers were eliminated last week, and none were voted off this week, instead athlete Dorothy Hamill announced her decision to leave the competition because of a back injury. 

The show also featured Musical guests Josh Groban and Icona Pop. Twitter also voted for one couple to perform an encore, which last night was Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy. 

"Dancing With the Stars" returns from 8 p.m. to 10:01 p.m. on Monday, with the DWTS Results Show airing next Tuesday night from 9 to 10:01 p.m. Next week's theme is prom night.
