Driving Under the Influence in Needham Police Log: Jan. 11

Saturday, Jan. 11
2:51 p.m.: Police were dispatched to a Mercer Road address for a report of a suspicious phone call. No threats or crime appeared to have been committed.
11:56 p.m.: Police observed a vehicle operating erratically on Chestnut Street and then proceed through several red lights onto Highland Avenue and then onto Webster Street. Police then initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Homestead Park and Webster Street with other Needham units and after investigation, police arrested James Shaughnessy, 29, of Brighton, and charged him with operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and cited for other various traffic infractions.
