Needham Police Investigate Contractor Scam

A Charles River Street resident was scammed out of $400.

Needham police are asking residents to be on alert after an apparent scam committed by a contractor on Tuesday.

Police responded to Charles River Street around 9:30 a.m. after a resident reported he had been scammed by someone who claimed to be able to fix his refrigerator.

The suspect made off with $400, the victim told police. The work was not performed as agreed upon.
