Needham Police Log: Drinks at the Post Office, No Right on Red

The following reports were provided by the Needham Police Department. Charges where mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Feb. 22

• Police pulled over a vehicle for a marked lanes violation. Police determined that the vehicle's license had been suspended, 2:45 p.m. The 39-year-old Tewksbury man at the wheel was cited criminally for driving with a suspended license and a marked lanes violation. The car was towed.

Saturday, Feb. 23

• 6:15 p.m., the Needham Post Office on Great Plain Avenue reported an intoxicated party. An acquaintance gave the 50-year-old from Weymouth a lift home.

Sunday, Feb. 24

• A Captain Robert Cook Drive residence reported a past larceny, during which some jewelry and coins were taken, at about 10:45 a.m.
• Just before 11:30 a.m., police received a report of some unruly hockey fans at the St. Sebatians Rink. On arriving, police found everything was calm, and there were no issues.
• At about 10:15 p.m., police saw a vehicle take a right on red at Chapel and Great Plain Avenue, where right on red is prohibited. After initiating a traffic stop, police arrested and charged 25-year-old Andres Pena-Herrera with unlicensed operation, and cited him with having an unregistered vehicle and taking a prohibited right turn.
