Needham Teen Charged With Intent to Distribute Drugs Near Dover Sherborn Middle School

A Needham teen will be charged as an adult for multiple drug violations after he was allegedly caught in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the parking lot of Dover Sherborn Middle School.

Dover police were doing a routine check of the regional school campus on Friday, Feb. 24 around 11:30 p.m. when they spotted the vehicle. When they approached the vehicle, officers reportedly observed marijuana and alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle.

Based upon the officers' observations and items that were taken into evidence, the operator, a 17-year-old Needham resident, is being charged with possession of drugs with the intent to distribute in a school zone, committing a drug violation near a school and being a person under 21 in possession of alcohol, according to Dover Police reports.

The 17-year-old will be charged as an adult, according to Dover Police.

Police did not release the name of the operator because the incident is still under investigation.

Officers searched the area and did not find any other vehicles, according to reports.
