According to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards website, the awards are broken up in to multiple regions across the country. Submissions are judged by a panel of jurors made up of artists, writers, educators and creative professionals.

The pieces of art are on display at the State Transportation Building, 10 Park Plaza in Boston, until April 19. The exhibit is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. It is closed on Sundays.

The Gold Key awards are the highest regional award, representing approximately 7-10 percent of all regional submissions. Gold Key Awards are also considered for national-level recognition.

Silver Key awards represent 10-15 percent of all regional submissions and Honorable Mentions represent approximately 15-20 percent of all regional submissions, the website says.
