Roads Closed After Tractor Trailer Crashes Into Utility Poles

Needham Police and Fire responded to a report of a tractor trailer unit entangled in power lines in the area of Great Plain Avenue and Greendale Avenue Friday morning.

Around 10:45 a.m., four utility poles were knocked down as a result of the incident, officials said.

Traffic and power to the area will be effected for an undetermined period of time while the Needham Police, Fire, DPW, Eversource and Verizon mitigate the incident.

As result of an ongoing incident the following road closures are in place:

• No traffic on Great Plain Ave from Greendale Ave to the Rt. 95 South on ramp
• No access to Needham via Exit 18 from Rt. 95
• No access to Peacedale Rd from Great Plain Ave

Drivers are asked to seek alternate routes.
