Thanksgiving Boxes Available at Needham Farmers Market

With the approaching season of Thanksgiving, Needham Farmers Market would like to thank you for your continued support of local farms, farmers, fisheries, artists, small businesses, nonprofits and musicians. This year has been the most difficult for farmers due to the summer drought and lack of rain, but thanks to late season rain and dedication to the soil they have persevered and worked hard to bring us a bounty of picked vegetables and herbs for our Thanksgiving tables.

Needham Farmers Market makes it possible for all of our community to gather in one place each Sunday and pay homage to those who work to provide us with healthy foods, beautiful pieces of art, and lovely music to lift our spirits. Without your patronage, it would not be possible and we thank you! From all of us at the Needham Farmers Market, we hope that you have a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Neighborhood Farm will have their annual Thanksgiving boxes available for delivery or for pickup at the Market, which will include an assortment of apples from UMASS Cold Spring Orchard, certified organic sweet potatoes and potatoes from Atlas Farm, IPM grown sustainable cranberries from Spring Rain Farm in Taunton. Small Thanksgiving Boxes sold for $55 picked up or $65 delivered to your home will also include: Lettuce, salad greens, radishes, carrots, kale or cooking greens, freshly pick rosemary, potatoes, onions, garlic and squash. Large Thanksgiving Boxes sold for $125 picked up or $135 delivered will contain: all of the above plus arugula, rainbow carrots, kohlrabi, freshly picked sage and parsley, parsnips, sweet potatoes, and a pie pumpkin. Order a Thanksgiving box for yourself, give as a gift for your family or a family in need, or donate a box of needed fresh veggies to the Needham Food Pantry!

MacArthur Farm will have scrumptious squashes, cranberries from Carver, MA, cider from Carison Orchards, pumpkins, and large variety of apples for baking and snacking! MacArthur Farm will also return this week with potatoes, cabbage, eggplant, green and red peppers, Chioggia beets, tomatoes, and multi-colored carrots. Try some fresh, organic broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, radishes, greens for saute, various types of lettuce, rhubarb, herbs, zucchini, cousa, sugar snap and shell peas, golden and red beets and Acres Honey.

Talk to Peter MacArthur about the many trees, wreaths and festive holiday decorations that are available soon at his farm in Holliston. Spend a day on the farm with Peter and Helen and see where all of your fruits and veggies come from during the year!

Located behind the Needham Bank in Needham Center, the Needham Farmers Market is open on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. New at the Needham Farmers Market: You can now sign up to receive updates and text reminders from the Needham Farmers Market regarding market dates and times, special prices on produce and fish in season, lunch specials, and events happening weekly at the Market.
