Auburndale resident Claudia Ascrizzi lost her 8-month-old Chihuahua/Dachshund/Pekingese mix today after he escaped from the backyard of her Woodbine Street home.

Ascrizzi says her pup, named "Vito," is mostly black with tan spots. He is approximately 12 inches tall, 16 inches long and weighs 14 pounds.

Vito is wearing owner tags and a rabies tag on a red collar in addition to a black and grey Easy Walk harness.

The lost pup is somewhat shy of strangers, Ascrizzi says, and is very quick/fast. She recommends luring the dog with some food.

Because of the home's close proximity to Commonwealth Avenue, Ascrizzi is afraid Vito will not know where he is and run into the street.

Vito is microchipped with the number 985121011280077.

Anyone with information on Vito's whereabouts can contact Ascrizzi at 617-947-8455 or her fiancé at 617-905-1973. Ascrizzi is also available by email at cascrizzi@gmail.com.
